FAQ's About Our Academy

No way! In fact, martial arts makes kids calmer and more respectful than ever. Martial arts always has been about peace, and it always will be.

Sometimes. However, injuries are very, very rare here. We have a lot of measures in place to keep your child perfectly safe. Safety has always been our #1 concern.

Yes! In fact, martial arts is often a “home” for kids who don’t excel at team sports. Kids who have trouble in baseball, basketball, etc. often come to martial arts and do extremely well. And it’s okay if your child is not athletic right now. Through our classes, they’ll get in great shape and become very athletic.

Kids have a blast here. There’s smiling and laughter throughout every class. We have our moments of intense concentration and focus… but we always balance things out with fun and games to keep everything alive and light.

Yes! Martial arts is a powerful source of confidence for kids. They practice hard and learn techniques in order to advance through the ranks. And as they advance, they fill with pride. After all, they’re the ones doing all the work – so they feel all of the accomplishment whenever they learn a new move… achieve a new belt… or get praise from their fellow students and instructors.

Practically every age is a good age to start! We have children as young as 3 years old, as well as teenagers. We also have specific programs for adults. So no matter where you or your child is on the age spectrum – we’ve got you covered.

Yes! We have a good mix of both girls and boys in our kids martial arts classes! Some people think that the boys are much “stronger and tougher,” but in reality this is not true. In fact, often girls are the stronger ones!

We offer both for your convenience and learning style. While most of our members enjoy the group setting, you’re welcome to speak to our instructors about private classes.

Not even close! Cardio kickboxing is essentially an hour long “follow the leader” aerobics workout that uses boxing techniques. Our classes use professional boxing equipment to give you an authentic experience, and you can always go at your own pace.

Every form of physical exercise, from running to walking to martial arts, comes with a risk for injury. However, our program is run by trained experts who place a tremendous focus on injury prevention.

Because martial arts makes you more balanced, limber & flexible – it generally leads to LESS injury in people’s lives. Not the other way around!

You’ll get in shape as you go. You don’t have to be in great shape to start.

The great thing about martial arts is you can be at any fitness level and do great. That’s because there’s no rush or pressure to do anything quickly. You can learn at your own pace.

If you have a knack for it, you can speed through techniques. If it’s a bit harder for you, take your time. All we care about is that you’re having fun, learning and progressing, and staying safe.

No! Because self-defense technique is taught in martial arts, it’s often thought of as violent. However, the philosophies behind martial arts revolve around peace and harmony. The moves are more of a way to become connected with your body. We teach diplomacy and friendship. However, if a violent situation ever arises in your life, you’ll have powerful tools to defend yourself and your loved ones.
